Our Charism
The gift and call of our community for the upbuilding of the Church.
The Sisters and Brothers desire to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, to love our neighbour as ourselves. We work together in the mission of the Immaculata to bring spiritual renewal through prayer, adoration, devotion and faith formation in parishes, through missions, and in the Church.
Parish Renewal Through Adoration & Faith Formation
Our mission within the Church
Our apostolate focuses on parish renewal and mission through Adoration and the Rosary: forming young people in the faith to help evangelise in the parish and wider community, including Catholic schools, Public schools and universities, being a bridge to the parish.
We also have a strong emphasis on faith formation within the parish and run mission schools to help young people fall in love with Christ and His Church. Some examples of the way we serve and support young people to serve include running parish missions and outreaches, retreats, live-reenactment of the Stations of the Cross, catechesis, RCIA, youth groups, music ministry in parishes, door knocking, children’s ministry, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, mothers groups, family days and home visitations.
Mary
Mary helps us to be faithful.
The Sisters and Brothers live under the Banner of the Immaculate Conception. Hence, we consecrate ourselves to Jesus through Mary, our Mother. We ask her to hide us deep within her Immaculate Heart and by this special consecration we ask to be enveloped by Our Lady’s presence and protection, and drawn into her contemplation of the life, death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. (Constitution 1.3)
Jesus chose to come into the world through Mary and we ask Our Lady to take us by the hand and teach us how to be like Jesus. We want to be her little children, so that she can help us grow to be like her Son. We also desire to bring souls to Mary, because no one loves Jesus like her and she helps us to love Jesus and keeps us on the straight and narrow. (Constitution 1.4)
After Christ, Mary was the first to fully live the life of the Gospel. Like her, we seek to listen to the Word of God, follow the Gospel through the eyes of the Church and to do whatever He tells us. (Constitution 1.5)
Eucharist
Adoring Our Lord, making Him loved
Jesus replied “Martha Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, one thing is needful and Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-43). Jesus wants us to sit with Him in Adoration before anything else and it is in sitting with Jesus that we get to know Him, fall in love with Him and become transformed by His presence. Hence, we desire to make Him number one in everything and lead others to choose the better part by promoting Adoration in parishes, and in all the places we serve – making Jesus known, loved and Adored in the Eucharist.
